Vassar Traditions

So these past two days I've kind of got back into the swing of my usual busy life. Yesterday I had a newspaper meeting where I signed up for the features interest section. After that I had a Vassar Prison Initiative meeting. I'm trying not to overbook myself, but all the oganizations that I've joined seem to be pretty "pick and choose" as far as commitment is involved, which is nice.

Tonight I had a Vassar Traditions meeting with my dorm, where we went to the Alumnae House (arguably, one of the most beautiful buildings on campus) where we took part in one of the oldest vassar traditions, the Vassar Devil. The Vassar Devil is sort of like a chocolate lava cake, where you put your own chocolate/marshmallow sauce and ice cream in the middle. It was wonderfully delicious. After this I had my first debate practice. I actually had a lot of fun, and I really look forward to debating. I have a more legitimate debate practice on thursday which I am equally excited for.

So, I tried to take a picture of my beautiful Vassar Devil Cake...but I felt a little awkward in this beautiful parlour, eating with beautiful china. So my picture is of the Alumnae house, which, you can't really see.

In a random moment from home, I had a 20 minute conversation with my brother Will when I called home today. However, about 15 minutes of this conversation centered on him narrating George of the Jungle to me. He also revealed to me that he has been sleeping in my room (which I find totally uncool [Mom!])

  1. I NEED some Vassar devil cake. It sounds fab. I'm also highly amused by Will sleeping in your room . . . you're gonna have to move into the loft!
