Random Things

Today was a pretty boring day, which was thrown off slightly by the fact that I did not start off the week with my regular international politics course because of labor day. My day was suddenly made exponentially better by the fact that we had a free gelato cart in the middle of the dining center for a special promotion. I had the most delicious chocolate/expresso/mascarpone cheese expresso ever.

I read an article in the NY times this summer which included advice to college kids, and one lasting piece of advice was an idea to treat college like a "9 to 5 job" as in, get your work done during the day so that you don't have stay up late doing it. It's been working pretty well for me, except the 5 timeframe sometimes has to extent to a 7pm deadline in order to get all my reading in.

Unfortunately, I sometimes get this eerie feeling when I have finished all my reading due this week. I then started reading my next tuesday's political science packet when I started to doze off. I asked my roomie to wake me up in 30 minutes, I woke myself up, told her to wake me up at 9 and then was practically bribed to stay awake.

My picture has nothing to do with any of these ramblings, however it is a picture of my outfit that I purchased with the gift card my aunt cindy gave me for graduation (Thanks Aunt Cindy!) At this snapshot in time I had just awoken from my nap and was trying to stay awake.
