I don't think I'm in Chugiak anymore...

Sorry for the lapse in posts, but I was fairly busy in NYC/resting from NYC. On Friday at around 2pm my friends and I left for the train station to go to the city. Once we got there we ventured to Greenvich Village where my friend lives to have some delicious rice pudding (from this great place called Rice to Riches) on his roof. Point being, he has the most amazing view. You can see a beautiful view of the skyline including the empire state building, as well as many other great NYC views.

We then rushed over to the Lincoln Center for the world premeiere of the movie Social Network (the movie about the founding of facebook.) We got to hear David Fincher, the director speak at the beginning and end of the film. He was the same guy who directed Fight Club, The Panic Room, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, and he's also set to direct the american version of Girl With the Dragon Tattoo.

At night we walked from Brooklyn to Manhattan (4.5 miles!) and walked through China Town, where I almost stepped on a crab. For a very late dinner we went to Katz Delicattsen and I had their world famous Pastrami Sandwich and sat at the same table where "Harry Met Sally".

In the morning we ventured to the Upper West side to go to Chelsea Market, a very cool mall of shops/restaurants which is also below the location of where the Food Network shows are all filmed.

It was such an amazing trip, and I really look forward to venturing into NYC more in the future.

  1. I'm so glad you got off of the closet floor!

It looks like a fun trip--New York City. You've come a long way from Chugiak! We've got to have pastrami here more often. (I hope you didn't do your "Sally" imitation in public.)

  2. I realized how odd that picture of my closet looked after I posted it, it was just demonstrating that a person could potentially sleep in there if need be. :)

  4. What a fun weekend!! I love NYC in the summer. I noticed that you were wearing a skirt at night (something that is impossible in AK!)
