The sun is shining

Yesterday was a mix of awful and okay. The weather wasn't as bad I thought it would be, I still had to go to my two classes (my spanish classroom was flooded, so we had to go to the language lab) but it wasn't too stressful of a day.

I finished my book review that I was pretty stressed about, and once I turned it in, I instantaneously felt better. My friend Sarah and I grabbed a late lunch/early dinner after our class since we were both planning to go see a film screening in an hour or so, which would prevent us from having dinner at a normal time.

I saw a short documentary called The Dark Side of Chocolate, about child slavery and human trafficking in the Ivory Coast, where 43% of all the cocoa beans are farmed. The very british director was there to answer questions, which I thought was as interesting (if not more so) than the movie).

I came back to my room to skype with my friend Esther and read my new subscription to The Economist that my mom bought for me in a semi-belated christmas present.

I'm going to NYC for a debate tournament this weekend, and I'll have to leave my room really early tomorrow...so hopefully I'll be back on Monday with lots of pictures of the big apple!
