Yesterday looked up a bit after I finally received my book for my Readings in U.S. History course, and was able to make a bit more progress on my paper(s).
Last night, I went to my first "Conversation Dinner" at Vassar. It's a program sponsored by the Residential Life Resource Group, and brings students/professors/faculty together to discuss an issue, or a question, effecting Vassar's campus. Last night's question was "Liberalism: the unspoken Religion at Vassar?" and I meant some very nice people, and besides the initial awkwardness, had a very enlightening conversation. The best part of the program was definitely the free dinner catered by a local italian restaurant, I ate way too much, and ended up taking some dessert home for later.
However, when I was walking back from the dinner, disaster struck. I had thrown my stuff in my room and I soon as I stepped out of the safety of my room (and about 5 paces from the "safe zone" of the bathroom) I was "stabbed" with a plastic knife by the person assigned to kill me in the Lathrop-wide game of Assassins. At this point, it was also only one hour away from when the game officially ended, so I was so close to making it out alive...
Doh! You got Lathroped! Did you ever identify your target and get them?!

ps. I don't know about you, but I'm getting very anxious to go home for X-mas. What are your plans for Turkey day?
Doh! That is a bummer. The kids are running wild as we get ready to go to the bounce house for a playdate. Not my favorite spot, but huck loves it...
ReplyDeleteThe Adventure of Meg just never end. I look forward to them daily!!
ReplyDeleteLani,
ReplyDeleteAfter awkwardly creeping outside my target's room, I chickened out when his roommate emerged...So, I guess it's better that my assassin found me, but still...it was almost a wash!
And, I'm going to go to my friend David's grandparents' home in White Plains, NY (about 40 minutes from here...) and then spend the rest of the weekend in NYC, while I wish I was going home...this should be fun!
Meg,
ReplyDeleteMy condolences about the stabbing! So close and yet so far . . . .
Aunt Toady
Stabbed in the dorm. Now that never happens in those safe mid-west colleges.
