Sorry for the lack of blog yesterday, this week is already proving to be incredibly stressful. I not only have large amounts of work in every one of my clases, I have at least two meetings/lectures everyday this whole week, and two final research papers that are looming. I also have a very difficult Jewish studies paper due on friday, even though we haven't received our last two papers yet. And, I have a book to read for Thursday for my readings in U.S. history class that neither the bookstore nor the library had in stock, so I had to order it on Amazon, and although I did "guaranteed one day shipping" it still hasn't gotten here...
Although I didn't receive my book yesterday, I did get a notification from the postal servce that I had a package. Among some magazines that my mom sent me (thanks Mom!), a delayed graduation card from an aunt of my father's, and a duplicate voter registration card (voter fraud, anyone?), I got a "Thinksgiving" card from my brother Will that he made at Konrad's Workshop, with the help of my cousin Cassie.
I really wish my webcam didn't do mirror imaging, but he stamped/drew some wonderful owls for me, and it made me miss my incredibly artistic brother. I guess it's kind of hard for me here because a lot of kids are either close enough to their families to visit them on the weekends, or they just dont' want to see their families, or a combination of the two.
This sweet card definitely made my day, and hopefully it will help my week be less stressful...
It sounds like a stressful time over in Poughkipsie. I hope it passes soon. We miss you and can't wait to see you at Christmas. Duke will walk over and shake your hand (or slobber on it).
ReplyDeleteI definitely remember being SO jealous of everyone that has family nearby. In fact, I'm still jealous of that! I just don't understand my friends that have family close and choose not to see them. I guess that we are the lucky ones that have great family (even though they are far away!)

You are blessed to have such a special brother - not to mention Konrad and Cassie!! xoxo
ReplyDeleteHang in there, Meg. We're all rooting for you.
