Almond Enthusiasm

Not too much going on lately. I have two papers due friday (one of them has recently been delayed till Monday, but I'm going to try to get it done by friday.) One paper is fairly straight forward one on history, but it's very difficult making it concise enough. The other one is for my (semi-wacky) jewish studies class, focusing on "otherness" in jewish culture, and while I have about 3 pages of typed up quotes/notes, I'm not too confident in my paper's ability.

On the plus side, my corneal ulcer has gotten muchmuchmuch better. My eye is no longer in blinding pain, I think the steroids that the doc perscribed me are really helping!

Still working on my viking costume for halloween, purchased a few things at salvation army to finish up the outfit, but I still have some sewing/cutting to do.

In my most recent excitement, my mom/grandparents sent me a box of trader joe goodies which I have happily been munching on, I have eaten nearly half my chocolate almonds already (in preparation for the candy overload this halloween!)

  1. I have total confidence in your paper's ability, Meg. I do think it would be more interesting, though, to write about the "otherness" of Alaskans. Now, that would be a paper I'd like to see.

  3. I just read a cool article in the newspaper about what I consider to be Jewish "otherness." It was about a woman who was contracted to write the Torah (a job that is supposed to only be done my men). She has been working on the project for about a year, 5-6 hours a day, 5 days a week. I can't wait to see your Viking costume!
