Thursday

The later part of my Thursday was actually pretty busy.

At around 6:45 I went with a friend to see the newly re-opened and renovated Loehman Loeb art center at Vassar. It's a small museum near the entrance to the college, which is free for the public to view.

[Oh, and also my goal for the evening was not having to pay for dinner, or go to any dining establishments that Vassar presents, so I planned to do a night of mooching at events.]

I was SO impressed with the art center. I don't know too much about art, but I kind of expected the musum to just have some Hudson river artists and paintings of women in funny hats, but this museum far surpassed my expectations. They had super old egyptian/greek artifacts, as well as a few picassos, Georgia O'keefe paintings, a Jackson Pollack, and tons more that I should really be more familar with. They also had really tasty/fancy snacks to enjoy while looking at the art.

After going to the museum, we went to a "junior year abroad" panel in our dorm, and I muched on some chips and salsa.

I then rushed off to debate practice, and continued on to the newly created "cafe" near my dorm, where I had my "dinner" of free pizza and veggies.

I joined another friend and we went from there, to watch a TV show with some friends from debate.

  1. I love your evening! But, I wouldn't have minded a picture of ladies in funny hats. I sort of like funny hats!

  2. Nice work finding all the free food on campus. When I started grad school, I also ate free dinner about three days a week!
