I spent basically the whole day researching (I now have 20 pages of typed up research that I need to consolidate into an outline today...), and I also went on a quick trip to the bank to get some money. My friend Emmy and I took a break for dinner and went to our dining center's holiday banquet where they food was definitely much better than usual, and I filled my belly with plenty of delicious carbs (pasta, bread, mashed potatoes, etc...).
After coming back to my room to work some more, I took another break to attend my dorm's town hall meeting with the President of the College and the Dean of Students. It went a good hour and a half and a lot of good concerns were raised, such as financial aid, the lack of resources in certain departments, dorm up-keep, security on campus, and etc. I even asked the President a question about the lack of activities (and proper food...) on campus during October break, for those (especially freshmen) who have to stay on campus. They didn't really respond in any meaningfuly way, besides that they are going to "look into it" but I know their interns were taking notes, so I guess that's something.
After the town hall meeting, my student fellow (like an "RA" in some schools...) was throwing an Ugly Sweater Christmas Party in our hall. The Hall was decorated so beautifully, and it made me yearn for christmas. I dressed up in my ugliest/sweaterest best and jammed along to christmas classics and drank hot cocoa.
Um, I sort of like your sweater... Lia
ReplyDeleteThat is NOT an ugly sweater!! It's very cute (and festive!). Hang in there Meg, it's almost time to come home.
ReplyDeleteThere seems to be so very much to do! That is a good thing. Love your count down to home! Hope today is a good one.
