Today was a much more low key day, with optional meetings in the morning, a meeting with my pre-major adviser, and then a few safety/educational lectures that I am halfway through. I went to a pre-law advising lecture which was pretty informative, as well as a one on one meeting with the head of the economic department who gave me advice on classes and what I should do if I want to minor (or receive a correlate) in economics.
I had a successful meeting with my pre major adviser, where he estimated that I would get all the classes that I want...so far my schedule consists of:
Monday: Spanish, international politics, jewish identities and politics freshmen writing seminar.
Tuesday: Micro econ
Wednesday: Spanish, international politics, jewish identities and politics freshmen writing seminar
Thursday: Micro econ
Friday: Spanish
In about an hour I'm gong with my fellow group (At Vassar, freshmen are assigned in groups of 10-12 to a sophomore who is our "student fellow." This student fellow often coordinates activiites and helps us transition into life at Vassar. My student fellow's name is Laura, and she is incredibly nice and has been very helpful to me thus far) to the arlington farmers market, which is on the Vassar Campus, and we might explore the rest of the neighborhood around Vassar.
I had a bit of downtime in betwen my meetings, and today turned into a beautiful day, so I strolled around the campus taking pictures of buildings. Included is the picture of the library at Vassar, aka the most beautiful building on campus; and a place I will probably be spending a lot of time!
From my long experience with Lia's blog you don't have to have catchy titles as long as you have good pics . . . so far, so good! Look for something from me in your mailbox soon.
