Day 2

Today has been a LONG day. I woke up around 7:45 naturally, then got dressed and left for the bank at 8:45. Maggie and I walked (it's about 2 blocks up Raymond Avenue...across the street from Vassar)there, and were told that all their computers were down. The teller lady also told me the EXACT opposite information than the person who set up my account yesterday. I was also told that the manager would call me today to give me my tracking and account number...and they never did. I'm seriously considering canceling my account, which, I can deal with tomorrow.

Then I had breakfast with my fellow group (a pastry, an apple, and an english muffin) and then went to a few research lectures. The first lecture was a Classics, philosophy, and history lecture on the "great books" and what makes western civilization. The next one I was going to was going to be a history class on the differences between social systems between the U.S. and Europe...unfortunately, I got lost...and was late...so then I went back to my room and took a nap. The next lecture was titled "The Myth of Dracula and the Russian Revolution" and yes, it was as cool as it sounds.

Then I had lunch, and went to a departmental meeting. I then took a nap, had dinner and dessert with my fellow group...and soon I will be departing to go to a tour of the library/computing services and then at 11pm there is a bonfire on the quad...should be fun!

I got my schedule, and plan to change a few things, which should be successful because I have a super low draw number (28 out of 666 students!) so hopefully I'll get that sorted out tomorrow.

I also got posters of AK seafood from Cousin Bill's office that are consuming my walls!
Cheers to Alaska!

  1. You sound like one very busy gal - but it all sounds good - especially the naps! Hope the bonfire tonight is fun.

  2. Yipee for naps and bonfires (if only college kids brought stuff for smores at those things)
