Training: complete!

I just got done with my last bit of training. It was an exercise titled "behind closed doors" and it consisted of all the student fellows going through a dorm where another one of house team would be acting as a distraught student over some situation, and we had to work it out. I had one girl who had been sexually assaulted and one who was considering suicide (toughies!) But I think I did really well.

Training has been kind of dragging on, but I got all my official work done and now am not just on to extra stuff (like laundry and organizing...) which is nice.

Two big things have occurred. One, my fridge/freezer/microwave that I rented arrived, hurray! Second, I got an email this morning explaining that the history department has selected me as someone who might be a good candidate for a research assistant position, and there's this whole big process that I have to go through, but I'm excited! But I do feel like this is the history department trying to convince me to be a history major...mhmm.

  1. Of course you did well! I still remember when you were a peer mediator in Juneau and wore the special vest when you were on duty. Who knew this was early preparation for your college job?

Also, I've never heard of such an appliance. I'd love to have one for my classroom. Enjoy.
