Yesterday consisted of moving in and visiting with people who are also here early
Maggie and I went to an early dinner at our favorite indian restaurant and then came back; I napped and then went to a meeting for the student government of our dorm.
My room is huge. It feels so much larger than my other room, and it's nice to have my own space (especially since Maggie is only 50 feet away from me...)
However; our dorm (and the rest of campus) is still under construction. The bathrooms are being re-done, and the majority of the work is right across the hall from me, so it's loud and dirty and I have to walk down the hallway to use the other restroom. They should be completely done by the 29th of August.
And I just found out that Rockefeller Hall (the political science building) is undergoing construction and will not be functioning this semester, which I don't really understand.
BUT, in some positive news, on move-in day I got a notification that I had a package in the mail, from no other than my wonderful cousin Kory; complete with snacks, crafts, and very cool floral wall decals. Thanks Kory!
Pics are of my room (taken from corner where the bed is), construction, and the great wall decoration I now have!
Woo hoo, visitors won't have to sleep in the closet this year.
