Yesterday consisted of my spanish class, going to pilates for the first time in forever, and then going to my US foreign policy class. All were pretty enjoyable, besides the fact that I learned that I have a spanish test on friday, which I'm not looking forward to at all...
That night I went to a film screening of the movie Inside Job, which is about the global financial crisis, and it won an oscar for best documentary (either 2009 or 2010), and one of the producers is a vassar alum, so she came to introduce the film and answer any questions about it.
While it was kind of long (which made me late to my amnesty international meeting at 8), it was extremely well done, and I learned a lot about something I knew very little about; the financial regulating meltdown. It talked about a wide variety of issues from greed of wallstreet brokers to the permeance of these figures in both government as well as the academic setting.
The worst part about yesterday, was that I woke up to more snow...and it would kind of change its strength through out the day, and this morning...still snow on the ground...yuck! The picture I have is a picture that I took on the way to the film screening of one Vassar's dorms; which was designed by the same person who designed the St. Louis Arch.
It sounds like you are back in the swing of things after a wonderful California vacation. We are still on Catalina Island with Don, Seth, Macaela and Oliver - life is good. Hope today brings sunshine to you.
ReplyDeleteC'mon Alaska girl - buck up and quit griping about the snow. San Diego made you a softee!
