What a great weekend!
I left thursday morning to meet my friend David at the Stamford train station where he and his brother drove me back to Pound ridge, where the rest of the smith fam was gathering. We played some board games ate lots of brie and then eventually set down to a lovely meal.
There was a much bigger crowd this year this last (around 19 people compared to 8 last year) so it was pretty festive.
On Friday, David and I stuck around the house and watched movies and baked and then at dinner at the house before going into his grandparents' apartment on the upper east side.
Next morning, my friend Dan from Harvard met up with us in the city before David's family came back to tour David's brother's apartment and physics lab at Columbia University. We then took the subway to the Occupy Wall Street park and then went over to the water to see the sunset.
At night, we went out to meet another friend from home, Jacob, whose friend was having a birthday party in brooklyn. It was so nice to see everyone!
On Sunday, david left very early in the morn and dan and I slept in and then walked around nyc for about 4 hours, getting lost...but we eventually ended up at grand central station with tired legs.
My weekend was fun, but it made me wish I was in Alaska...Less than a month til I return!
(Pics are of the statue of liberty at sunset, the occupy wall street movement [the people gathering in the park...not exciting], columbia library, and others!
OMG - you ate cheese?!
