Walk to my Tutorials

This week I had my two tutorials in the same day--they both happen to be in the North part of Oxford, which is around a 25 minute walk from my college, so I grabbed lunch on a fun tucked away street called North Parade avenue in between my two classes.

The grey building is the location of my first tutorial

Church? Building?--Whatever it is, it's pretty--on the way to my tutorials

  1. I've read lots of English novels, but never really understood tutorials. What are they? How do they work?

  2. Probably should have explained that in the post! Basically, tutorials are the "classes" here where you meet once a week with a professor either one on one (like my second tutorial) or with another student or two (like my first tutorial)--I have a paper due each class, and I read my paper out loud and then the professor asks me questions on it, I have to defend it, and if there are other students in the class, we have a discussion about that week's topic. You have to be pretty self-motivated here, as a lot of the learning is on you (and there are lectures you can go to if you want), but it's been a really good experience so far!
