Laborious Labor Day

My labor day was pretty busy.

I woke up at around 8:30 to go to breakfast with my friend, before starting the reading that I should have started the day before.

By around 1, I had finished my reading, and then I baked a batch of generic funfetti cupcakes for the first Vassar Prison Initiative meeting of the year. The only problem is that Lathrop's kitchen is like a torture chamber, incredibly hot and unpleasant because of a lack of windows or fans.

After this I had a student fellow meeting at 6 where we talked about upcoming events and safety in our dorm. Then we went to dinner and I had to skip away for a VPI exec board meeting at 7:30, followed by our general interest meeting at 8. We had about 20-30 people show up, which was exciting, and if half of them stay that'll leave us with good numbers to accomplish what we want.

Then at 9, the freshmen had rehearsal for their song at serenading (all the dorms' freshmen write songs that they sing to the seniors on saturday), that I had to help lead. Then at 10 we had a house team meeting, where we discussed upcoming events, and where I learned that I need to work on being less type A.

Then I invited my frosh over for a cupcake snack in my room where we dined on the leftover cupcakes from the meeting.
